December 7, 2021, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Oliver Tarr (Photo by Paul Mauceri / OJHL Images) of the Haliburton County Huskies has been named the Warrior South-East Conference Player-of-the-Month for November after he tallied 17 points during 11 games. His seven goals included  the game-winner Nov. 8 in Cobourg. It was his third GWG of the campaign.

Tarr, 19, first played for the franchise when it was the Whitby Fury and he was an affiliate player from the Whitby Wildcats U18 team in 2018-19. He joined the team full-time the next season and had 17 goals and 20 assists in 53 games. He moved to Minden with the team this season.

He has 37 points (21 goals/16 assists) again this season – but that’s in only 24 games, as OJHL teams near the midway point of the season.

His 21 goals lead the OJHL. He’s fourth in points.

The Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League offered Tarr a contract this season but the free agent turned it down to retain his NCAA eligibility. He’s drawn considerable interest from Division I schools thanks to his solid start to the season.

The Uxbridge product also played for the Central Ontario Wolves organization ahead of junior.

Matthew Wilde of the Toronto Jr. Canadiens was runner-up to Tarr as the South-East Conference Player-of-the-Month. The 19-year-old from Mississauga had six goals and eight assists in eight games. In his rookie season of junior hockey, Wilde has scored 18 goals and assisted on 18 more in 25 games with the nationally ranked Canadiens.
