CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Charlottesville Tom Sox are excited to welcome back Seth Dvorak as their 2022 Head Coach.

An assistant coach on the 2021 Tom Sox team, Dvorak joins the 2022 Tom Sox while currently serving as an assistant coach at Oakton Community College.

Said Dvorak, “It is a tremendous honor and opportunity for me to return to Charlottesville for the 2022 summer, this time as the Head Coach. I am beyond excited to meet and work with some of the best young athletes from around the country. I know how important this team is to the community, and I look forward to leading the Tom Sox to a successful season. Go Sox!”

Said Tom Sox President & General Manager Mike Paduano, “Any time you can bring back a coach that has previously coached with your organization, it makes a huge difference. Seth showed a lot of very good coaching qualities in the summer of 2020. He worked hard and proved that he could lead this team in 2022.”

The 2021 Tom Sox finished the regular season with a .750 winning percentage, the fourth highest in the Valley Baseball League over the last 17 seasons. The team won 20 of their last 26 games and made the league playoffs for the fourth straight season. Under Dvorak’s assistance, the Tom Sox set a team record for stolen bases (110), 44 more than the next-best season. The 2021 ‘Sox placed three hitters on All-Valley League squads and three on the Valley League All-Star Team, on which Dvorak was an assistant coach. Additionally, Dvorak coordinated the team’s successful youth baseball camps.

Additionally, Dvorak has served as a graduate assistant at North Park University and as Head Coach of the Illinois Indians 17U Navy travel team. He also spent two years at Prep Baseball Report while coaching at North Park.

Before entering coaching, Dvorak played two seasons at North Park, where he earned ABCA Second Team All-Region honors his senior year. Prior to playing at North Park, Dvorak played two seasons at Oakton Community College.

Dvorak graduated from North Park in 2018 with a degree in sports management and recently completed his MBA. He currently resides in the Chicago area, and is a big Chicago Cubs, Bulls, and Bears fan.
