George Mason University senior Cameron Smith grew up a Capitals fan from a young age. Born and raised in Arlington, the former Yorktown Highschool Patriot was a standout on the ice from his earliest days playing for the NOVA IceDogs and Washington Little Caps. Eventually, Smith's talents led him to faraway places such as Youngstown, Ohio, Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and even Bismarck, North Dakota, to compete in junior hockey in pursuit of a college scholarship.
Unfortunately, a series of disastrous injuries late in his junior career...
