The Knights travelled to Atlanta where they grounded the Kennesaw State Owls with 2 consecutive victories.
Friday the Knights added to their 2-0 first period lead by adding 4 more in the last 40 minutes in route to a 6 - 3 win. Max Weinstock led the Knights with 2 goals and 2 assists followed by Matthew Angilella with a goal and an assist. Nathan Shield made 18 saves on 21 shots for the visiting Knights.
Saturday produced the biggest offensive output of the year for the Knights as they cruised to an 8 - 2 victory over the Owls. Captain Donovan McClellan (2g - 2a) led the way along with Hunter Chard (2g - 1a), and Mate Imre (2g) for the Knights. Nathan Shield got the start again coming up with another great performance between the pipes for the Knights stopping 25 of 27 shots.
The team returns to practice this week as they prepare for the upcoming weekend at the Daytona Ice Rink where they will face two more SECHC opponents. Friday night UCF will take on the Tigers from Auburn followed by a Saturday game against the FSU Seminoles.
