Blues defeat Haliburton Huskies 6-1

The Collingwood Blues were back at The Eddie Bush Memorial Arena facing the new look Haliburton County Huskies. The usual Friday night atmosphere was alive with over 400 people in attendance for the final home exhibition game.


From the puck drop, the Blues were far superior in every category. Stifling Haliburton at every turn. When called upon Noah Pak was solid between the pipes. Ayden Dooley got the evening started with a lovely snipe from the point to open the scoring. Jake Kovacs would add another 5 mins later to send the Blues into intermission up 2-0


The second period saw the Blues come out firing. Kovacs again found the twine on the powerplay. Owen Johnston rounded out the second-period scoring leaving the Blues up 4-0 heading to the third.


The third period was business as usual. Spencer Young and Jack Piper rounded out the scoring for the Blues. Haliburton added a late tally to finish the game 6-1. Adam O’marra paced the offence with 3 assists, Jack Piper added a goal and 2 assists.

Associate Coach Andrew Campoli when asked for his thoughts about the game.“I’m very impressed by our team and the complete game they played to secure the win. We did a great job of limiting their chances and when opportunities were created to score, the boys were sure to capitalize on them. Playing in front of over 400 fans at an exhibition game gave everyone that extra jump in their step and we all can’t wait
until our home opener on October 1st.” Blues finish up exhibition play Saturday, Sept 25 in Haliburton.

The Home Opener is Friday, October 1 at 7 pm vs Pickering Panthers.
