Hawkeyes hire David VanDeveer as new Head Coach

The Hawkeyes hockey family would like to welcome new head coach David VanDeveer! David previously has coached for the following programs:
David joins the University of Iowa as a USA Hockey Level V coach after previously serving as the United States Naval Academy Women’s team Head Coach in 2019-2020. The team qualified for their first appearance at the ACHA National Tournament in four years. Coach VanDeveer served as an Assistant coach with the Duquesne University ACHA Men’s D1 program in 2018-2019 where he managed an aggressive offense. From 2016-2018 he was an assistant at the University of Richmond ACHA D3 Men’s program from where they won the Blue Ridge Hockey Conference Championship in his second year. U16 & U18 Chilled Ponds High Performance team in Chesapeake, VA. Prior to his coaching career David played with the Hampton Roads Jr. Admirals and Old Dominion University where he earned his B.A. in history.
