The Collingwood Blues have acquired defenseman Eric Moreau from the Timmins Rock (NOJHL).

The Blues are very excited to add a veteran defenceman in Eric. He is someone that has been a target for our club for quite some time now and we are thrilled to bring him into our defence core. Eric is an extremely reliable defender and brings a tremendous amount of leadership, character and consistency to the rink on a daily basis. The Blues would like to welcome Eric and his family to the Collingwood community, and we can't wait to see him in a Blues uniform,” said Head Coach Rob Bentivegna

Eric spent the past 3 seasons on the Timmins blueline playing 125 games and recording 41 points.

New addition Eric Moreau shared his connection to Collingwood, “Growing up playing minor hockey in the historic Eddie Bush arena, both for Penetang and the Collingwood Blue Thunder (Spring). It never occurred to me that I would finish my junior career with Collingwood Blues as my team. Just a couple of years ago that wasn’t even an option. Enter Dave Steele, and now the Blues are a hockey player’s dream. With all the renovations and amenities Mr. Steele has added, the Eddie Bush is a rink I feel fortunate to play in. The Blues are closer to home for me, but more importantly, the track record that Mr. Tarantino and his staff have established, by icing winning teams and their ability to move players to the next level, is second to none.  I am excited for the start of any season but with 2021-22 being my last, it’s going to be extra special being able to play in front of the great fans in Collingwood with a packed Eddie Bush."
