It has been a hard slog to say the least for all teams involved in the junior hockey game and life in Bulldogs Country has been no different. With the team not occupying the Bulldogs Room, the slick ice surface, concession stand, and seats of the Burford Community Centre, one can chillingly hear a pin drop in the home of the Bulldogs.

One of the bigger challenges that pertains to the Bulldogs and Junior "C" clubs alike is remaining relevant within the community to which each PJHL club belongs to. With much bigger fish to fry in terms of people’s health and overall safety around Brant County, Ontario, and Canada, this is an odd time for junior hockey clubs to go through.

In the case of the Bulldogs, the team’s overall progress to becoming a pure development program has been halted, at least for a little while. With the goal in mind to push young players, coaches, management, and staff to the next level, these plans take a backseat position and for good reason.

"Trying to remain relevant has never been so tough to do,” said Bulldogs General Manager, Ben Beechey, who was looking forward to his first full year as the Dogs General Manager.

“We were excited and aiming to show players and parents that we’re putting together a good program, but at this time, we can't actually show them our progress and that is a real challenge,” Beechey added.

"Our mindset is to stay engaged, educated, and get back into the rink to execute our plans once things settle. I’m sure many programs are facing this at the moment. With regards to the Bulldogs, we want to show the fruits of our labour and look forward to icing a competitive hockey team for the town of Burford to enjoy. We’ve worked tirelessly to form a positive future for the Bulldogs."
