Beavers Back in the Championship

CHESTERFIELD, M.O. — The Beavers have done it again. The improbable national tournament run now has the Beavers back in the championship game. The toughest path for any team was going to be for the Beavers. The Beavers battled the 4th ranked Liberty Flames to the very end on route to a 3-1 victory. 
 

The first period was fast and furious. Both teams having chances, with both goalies making big saves. Controversy struck there minutes in for the Beavers. An apparent goal went in, was determined to have done under the net. Leaving the score 0-0. In the second the sparks flew. Liberty capitalized on an errant mistake to take the 1-0 lead. The Beavers would answer back quickly. Defenseman Dylan Cassie buried a back door goal to tie the game. Four minutes later forward Drew Carter would bury a loose puck rebound to give the Beavers the 2-1 lead. In the third, goaltender Chad Duran would steal the show with big saves. Drew Carter would add an empty netter to give the Beavers the 3-1 win. 
 

The Beavers now battle Adrian College in the national championship game. 7:00pm on www.HockeyTV.com
