Mason Hockey bolsters its already strong roster with the addition of Will Magrath, a 20-year-old freshman from Woodbridge, VA. Magrath, a forward from the Patriots USPHL Premier team, has committed to play hockey at Mason next fall.
Magrath spent his past three seasons with the Potomac Patriots and will be staying in the same rink with his decision to come to Mason. Both the Potomac Patriots and George Mason Patriots share Prince William Ice Center as their home rink.
In his last three seasons, Magrath played 131 games at the junior hockey level. Having spent his last two seasons on the Premier Team (77 games), he brings elite on-ice talent, as well as a strong veteran presence to the locker room.
"We were very excited to get Will here. He is a strong skater, good with the puck, great vision on the ice, and well-rounded addition to our squad. He will have opportunities at the ACHA level to be successful and we believe that he will be an important piece for this program moving forward." Head Coach Steve Hyjek remarked.
"I’m excited to come play for Mason next year because I will be playing good hockey while getting a great education," Magrath commented. "I also like where this program is going. Seeing great players committing to GMU, all the facility upgrades being implemented, and the recent move to ACHA D1, it is really something exciting to be a part of."
Welcome to Mason Will!
