The Collingwood Blues are proud to announce that veteran defenseman Mason Piercey has committed to NCAA Rivier University Men’s Ice hockey team for the 2021-2022 season.  Over part of two seasons, Mason was a reliable presence on the Blues backend, most noted for his consistent and aggressive play.  Mason was not a player opponents enjoyed playing against.

“After coaching Mason for the last two years it didn’t come as a surprise that he would be moving on to the next level. It's been great watching him develop into a solid two-way defenseman, and into a leader on and off the ice,  he is going to be missed, but we couldn’t be happier for you,” said Assistant Director of Hockey Operations (former Assistant Coach) Nick Ricca.

Blues Head Coach Rob Bentivegna added, “The Collingwood Blues Jr A Hockey Club would like to congratulate Mason and his family on his commitment to Rivier University. Mason is a mature right-shot defenceman who has a high compete level and a hard accurate shot. He is a lead-by-example type player who lets his play do the talking for him. We are thrilled to see Mason moving on to the NCAA and taking his hockey and academics to the next level."
