With much uncertainty around the 2020-21 season due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Wellington Dukes have completed a trade with Chilliwack of the BCHL, sending 20 year old forward Ben Woodhouse to the Chiefs for a PDF/Future Considerations.

A third year player with the Dukes, Woodhouse brought veteran leadership and experience to the Dukes, something that Dukes GM Todd Reid spoke highly of when reached for comment about the trade. "Ben wanted to stay in Wellington. He is a leader and a three year player for our program.  He is a Duke, he will always be a Duke, and we will continue to support him in any way we can.  Ben has an opportunity with Chilliwack to get on the ice right away and hopefully play. Like the Wellington Dukes, Chilliwack is one of the top programs in the country. We want to thank Ben and wish him the best in pursuit of his dreams" said Reid.

Woodhouse was expected to be a very big part of the Dukes offense this season. During the Hasty P's Cup versus the Trenton Golden Hawks, Woodhouse put up 15 points (6 goals, 9 assists) in 8 games to lead the series in scoring.
