The Collingwood Blues have named Derek Sweeney as the new captain. 

Blues Head Coach Rob Bentivegna had this to say about naming Derek Sweeney as the new Blues' captain. "Derek is entering his 4th year of Junior hockey and was an easy decision for our staff to name a captain. He is a lead-by-example player who never takes a shift off. Derek is the perfect leader for our younger players who are in their first year of Junior hockey because of the work ethic and team-first attitude that he brings to our club on a daily basis. We are extremely confident in Derek's ability to lead our club both on and off the ice."
