Game 7 Exhibition Wrap Up

Date:  Source: OJHL Collingwood Blues

A tight first period in which the Blues found themselves behind in the shot total to Lindsay. After trading penalties all period the teams headed into the first intermission tied at 0.

The second period saw a complete change of pace for the Blues. Responding after a pep talk from Head Coach Rob Bentivegna, the Blues would strike four times in the second period including a Power-play strike by Jake Kovacs that broke the ice. Special teams would strike again short-handed as Cole Hipkin would find the back of the net. Derek Sweeney, donning the Captains C for the first time at home would pick up a loose puck and jam home the third Blues goal of the afternoon. Hipkin would strike again to close out the overwhelming second period which saw the Blues flip the shot total on Lindsay.

The third period would be nothing short of icing the game as the teams traded shots on goal. First-year Blue, Dylan Hudon would find the back of the net midway through the third and it would be all Noah Pak would need to shut the door on Lindsay turning aside 26 shots picking up First Star. Hipkin with 2 goals and an assist would take the second star. Sweeney with the complete game along with a goal and an assist took the third star respectively. Owen Sage and Will Reddick both had 2 assists in the win. The Blues wrap up their exhibition series with Lindsay and await further scheduling within OJHL Return To Play Preseason.
