He is a draft pick for the OHL, but he will be coming to Trenton for the upcoming season.

Nathan Oickle is a 17-year-old D-Man from Peterborough and had a standout year with the Petes U18 AAA club last season.

He averaged almost a point a game.  He has also played a handful of games with the Lindsay Muskies and the Cobourg Cougars of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Oickle says, "I had a couple of friends play some games with Trenton last season. I heard only good things about the coaches, the organization and about the guys on the team.  It was a pretty easy decision from everything I heard.  It is nice that I am close to home as well."

When asked what he brings to the team, he added, " I am a two-way defenceman.  I am strong on the back end, but I Iove jumping into the rush  to try and score some goals. My goal is to get a D1 scholarship and that is why Trenton is a perfect fit as well."

As far as his favouite player, "That would have to be Morgan Reilly.  I would love to try and model my game after him.  I am a huge Leafs fans and I watch him a lot."

Head Coach and GM Peter Goulet says, "Oickle is going to bring youth and energy to the team but has a lot of potential.  The GHawks are thrilled to welcome him for the 2020-21 season.  He will be part of our camp starting next week."
