Steve Smith is honoured to be the assistant coach for the Myers Minor Bantam AAA for the 2020/2021 season. 

Steve brings to the coaching staff over 28 years of coaching experience. He has been both head coach and assistant coach at the B-Rep, AA, AAA, U18 and Jr B levels. 

He's coached with such organizations as South Grenville Jr B, SGMH, Gananoque Islanders Jr B where he helped coach the team to a Gill Cup championship. He was the head coach of the Brockville Braves U18, Prescott Flyers Jr B and numerous years as a head coach with the Rideau St Lawrence Kings where he received such accolades  as Coach of the year and Team of the year.  
 
Steve stresses teamwork, respect, discipline, fair play, enthusiasm, commitment, effort, and tenacity which are all life skills that will be emphasised throughout the season. Steve will work with the coaching staff to provide a safe and positive learning environment that respects the process of player and team development as much as the result of winning or losing. 

 
Steve’s extensive coaching experience will greatly contribute to the solid coaching foundation we have assembled for the Minor Bantam team for this upcoming season. 

Steve is very excited to be joining the Myers association and he along with head coach Steve Norton are committed to  providing a season consisting of fun, up-tempo, high paced practices which will focus on individual skills, individual tactics, team tactics and systems. The players will be provided with the skills, tools and feedback necessary to compete to their maximum individual potential in a team environment.
