DICKINSON, ND- The Badlands Big Sticks have signed utility player Jacob Flores for the 2020 season.
Flores is a Sophomore at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Jacob is originally from Corpus Christi, TX and attended Carroll High School.
In one and a half seasons at UTRGV due to the cancellation of the 2020 season, Flores has a .236 career batting average with 34 hits, six doubles, two triples and 18 RBI's in 48 games played. Jacob can play anywhere on the field and has a fielding percentage of .992.
In his Senior year at Carroll High School, he finished with a .425 AVG with 11 doubles, three triples, five home runs and 26 RBI's.
"Jacob has the ability to play pretty much every position on the field," stated Big Sticks owner Dave Ouellette. "He is fundamentally sound defensively and has a great approach at the plate. We feel he will have a great summer with the Big Sticks."
The Big Sticks open the 2020 season on Tuesday, May 26th in Brandon, MB when they travel to play a three game series with the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks before the home opener in Dickinson on Friday, May 29th against the Pierre Trappers.
