Wakefield, RI - The Ocean State Waves are happy to announce their schedule for the upcoming 2020 New England Collegiate Baseball League season. The 2020 season will see a new team join the NECBL, a team depart, and a divisional realignment. 

    The Waves will open their season with a road contest against the Danbury Westerners. 

    In 2020 the NECBL will add the Bristol Blues, a team that comes from the FCBL. The Blues were one of the top teams in the FCBL after being founded in 2015. This marks the third time that an NECBL team has been in the Bristol area. 

    The Valley Blue Sox will transition into the Southern Division, replacing the New Bedford Bay Sox. The Waves and the Blue Sox have faced off in two out of the last three NECBL Championship series’ for the Fay Vincent Cup, with the Blue Sox taking both of those series’.

    2020 marks the seventh installment of the Pell Bridge Series, the annual series between the Waves and the cross-bridge rivals, the Newport Gulls. The Gulls took the series last year by defeating the Waves four of the six times they squared off. The series was highlighted by a suspended game that the Gulls took 13-12.     All of the Waves home games will start at 6:30 p.m. and take place at Old Mountain Field on Kingstown Rd. in Wakefield.
