Games this past week:

Bradford Bulls @ New Tecumseth Civics

2.6.20- Bulls 5, Civics 2,

The Bradford Bulls used a 5 goal second period to take charge of the game and eventually hand the Civics their second straight loss 5-2 Thursday night in GMHL action at the New Tecumseth Rec Centre.

The Civics scored the only goal of the first period when Alex Egan tipped the puck past Bulls goalie Nicklaus Robinson on the power play.

The Bulls began to heat up 6 minutes into the second period when they tied the game on the power play courtesy of Nathan Curley. 2 minutes later Marquis Grant-Mentis got his first of the game.

The period began to fade but the Bulls would go on the attack once again with 4 minutes left in the period when Logan Emery gave the Bulls a 2 goal lead. Less than a minute later Grant-Mentis scored his second before Curley ended the flurry of goals with his second of the night 30 seconds after that.

In the final frame the Civics got a goal from rookie forward Savva Verbetskii in the last minute of the game.

Curley and Grant-Mentis each finished with 2 goals, while Curley added an assist.

Shots on goal finished 38-30 in favour of the Civics but Robinson was too strong making 33 saves to secure the win for the Bulls as Yaroslav Leontev and Chris Cabral split time seeing 30 shots in defeat.

Home Game this week:

NONE

The Civics will not have a home game this week instead travelling for a rare Thursday road game to Meaford to take on the Knights. Civics Captain Riley Nadeau enters this game with 98 points and needs only too to become the first player in Civics history for 100 in a season. The Knights are led in scoring by Felix Lecomte who is the biggest challenger to Civics Vadim Tsyrkunov in the Rookie of the Year race, each has 34 points this season so far. Following this game the Civics will create a first round schedule for the playoffs.
