DUNSMOOR GRABS WARRIOR GOALTENDER-OF-THE-MONTH AWARD

December 9, 2019, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Matthew Dunsmoor (Photo by Amy Deroche / OJHL Images) of the Wellington Dukes has been named its Warrior Goaltender of the Month for November.

Dunsmoor was undefeated (5-0-1-0) during November, posting a league-best 1.62 goals-against average with a .943 save percentage. On the season, Dusmoor is 13-4-2 with the nationally-ranked Dukes. His .927 GAA is third best in the 22-team league.

The 18-year-old from Guelph went 16-12-2 for the OJHL’s Burlington Cougars last season. He played his midget and minor midget seasons in the Guelph Jr. Gryphons AAA program and bantam with the Vaughan Kings of the GTHL.

Dunsmoor played one game with the Mississauga Steelheads last season. He was an eighth-round pick of the Steelheads in the 2017 OHL draft.

Christian Mattiace of the Toronto Jr. Canadiens was runner-up to Dunsmoor as the Goaltender-of-the-Month. The Woodbridge native went 6-1-0 during November, posting a 1.85 GAA and a .930 save percentage. The 19-year-old product of the Jr. Canadiens minor hockey program is in his third season with the junior A team.
