This past Saturday marked the opening of the Braves 50th Anniversary Season. With lots of former Braves alumni in attendance, the Braves came out on top with a 3-2 victory. After Wellesley took the lead in the first, the Braves responded when Mitch McKay notched the teams first goal of the season with assists going to Josh Helgerman and Ryan Donat. Tanner Johnson put the Braves ahead in the second period, assists going to Drew Gerth and Patrick Vulgan. The Applejacks managed to tie the game up before the end of the middle frame and the 3rd period saw no scoring. Just under three minutes into the overtime period, Thomas Haffner scored his first as a Brave and sealed the win for Tavistock, Ian Glendinning also scored his first point as a Brave adding an assist. Jensen Van Boekel was outstanding in net making 35 saves.
The Braves next home game is Friday September 20th when they host the Paris Mounties. Puck drop is set for 7:30PM.
