Warhawks – Baseball, in its infinite permutations, births something new every day. Typically it’s minutiae, a blip on the radar unworthy of even a moment’s consideration. Then there are days like Sunday, when all the right circumstances align, when the gears clack into place exactly as intended, when the toil of an entire season still wasn’t enough to render judgment. Baseball is such a perfect game in some ways, that it takes 30 games not to decide anything. A smile spread across Severino's face. His Warhawks had just dispatched the NY Beers in a comeback 10-9 win which saved their season. Three hours earlier that day, Los Bravos manhandled the NY Giants in both games 10-5 and 15-3. All of that together meant Monday in the standings would be unlike anything baseball ever had seen; possible scenarios that can potentially be the biggest comeback team in MABLNYC history. No team in MABLNYC history has started in a dreadful 4-14-1 start and finish the season with a 9-3 record come including next weekends play which the Warhawks should have no problem defeating the NY Giants.
Bravos- The solid young core control their own destiny in being a game in a half in front of the Warhawks. However it will not be easy as Los Bravos will take on a third place Beers team who are also playing for something in the standings. Los Bravos have been an up and down team all year long. When facing teams over .500, Los Bravos have been 5-9 which proves that they can somewhat play with the big dogs. Los Bravos will be in a surprise if it comes down to a serious tie come Monday Morning of July 29th.
NY Diamondbacks- The struggling Dbacks have been 2-7 in their last 9 games. The Dbacks are also looking into a brink of elimination towards their season as they face the Fish on Sunday. The Dbacks could have lost 2 against the NY Giants when they luckily came back from a 7 to 3 deficit to win 8-7 last week. It has been a tough go around by the Dbacks all season after losing their ace John Showtime for 2/3 of a season due to elbow pain on his pitching arm. The Diamondbacks are currently in the 5th seed with an 11-14-1 record. The Diamondbacks also control their own destiny with their magic number being at 1 to clinch a playoff berth
