Re: Bantam Programing Announcement
The 2019 season for the North Delta Blue Jays is turning out to be a very exciting one. Following last Fall’s announcement regarding the North Delta Blue Jays and Delta Tigers decision to work collaboratively together, both clubs continued to work together to come up with something even bigger and better. In the past year we pooled our resources, coaches and talent to support each other’s programming, striving to improve the Delta baseball opportunities from the grass root level, all the way up to the high performance 15U and 18U levels. The two clubs are now taking it to the next level with an even deeper and committed cooperative approach.
As of September 1, 2019, the Delta Tigers will be transitioning from BC Minor’s Bantam AAA program to the Premier Baseball Leagues Bantam Prep league. The Tigers will play under the North Delta Blue Jays organization and together we will be fully committed to working with all three BC Minor Baseball Associations in Delta to help grow the sport and increase the high performance options for the players.
Both of the Blue Jay teams and the Tigers are enjoying a successful season to date. The Delta Tigers are atop their Bantam AAA Division and are in a great position to challenge for their upcoming Provincial Championship, while both of the North Delta Blue Jay teams have won the Tier 1 and Tier 2 - 18U Baseball BC Provincial Championships. Both Blue Jay teams will each represent BC at the next level from August 15-20 - the Junior Jays in Red Deer at the 18U Western Canadian Championships and the Senior Jays in London, Ontario at our 18U Nationals Championships.
The North Delta Blue Jay teams have long been rooted with players who have moved up through the Tigers program and we look forward to working together to continue these successes while developing our young players. Collectively our goal is to make Delta the city of choice for youth baseball and high performance opportunities.
