CAMP START-UP INFORMATION

Date:  Source: Newman Youth Sports Camps

Dear Campers and Parents,

The start of camp is only a few days away. We are excited about what promises to be yet another great summer of camping!!

We kindly ask you to review the following information as it provides important details about the start-up of camp and what your child will need to bring with them each day they attend camp.

On the first day of camp (July 2), we will conduct our Sign-In Registration. This can be a very hectic process so we ask that you arrive at 8:30AM. Your punctuality will assist us greatly in processing all campers and get them organized in a timely fashion.

IMPORTANT NEW REQUIREMENT for this year ... all campers must have a parent/guardian sign an INSURANCE WAIVER FORM. We will have forms on-hand for you to sign at the time of registration. In the event your child or children are being dropped off by someone else, please download a form (for each child attending camp), sign and send in with your children. Please link HERE to access the waiver form.

If there is any pertinent information that you wish to share with us, such as medical conditions, food allergies, extended care requirements, etc., we ask that you bring this to our attention at the time of sign-in. All information will remain confidential and recorded only for the safety of your children.

Please Note: We will hold epi-pens and other health-related products in our possession at your request.

Our normal hours of operation are 9AM–3PM. We ask that you drop your children off in the main gymnasium each morning at which time they will line-up with their groups. Each morning we will hold a brief opening address that parents are welcome to attend if they wish. We encourage all campers to be punctual so that we can get our day started as early as possible. At 2:45PM each day, our campers will gather in the main gymnasium for a closing address at which time we will share some of the day’s highlights with the entire group. We ask that parents try to attend the closing address so they can keep up-to-speed with what their children are doing during the day; more importantly, to be there to escort their children out of the facility at the time of dismissal. We will NOT permit campers to leave the premises unless under the supervision of a parent and/or guardian.

We are offering Extended Care in the AM (8-9AM) and PM (3-5PM) for campers that require this service at a nominal cost – individual and family rates are available (visit our website for details). Please inform us via e-mail, or at the time of sign-in, if you require extended care.

Newman Youth Sports Camp will provide campers with TWO Complimentary Lunches (food only … please pack your own drinks) during each week of camp (Wednesday & Friday). Campers are responsible for bringing their own lunches on the other three days of camp. We encourage parents to pack plenty of beverages for their children to ensure they are properly hydrated throughout the week.

NEWMAN YOUTH SPORTS CAMP IS A NUT-FREE CAMP
NO NUT PRODUCTS ARE PERMITTED TO BE BROUGHT TO CAMP

Please ensure you are in compliance with this rule when preparing your child’s lunch. We have a number of campers with nut-related allergies and must ensure their safety at all times.

All campers are required to dress in proper athletic gear while at camp (shorts, track pants, athletic shoes, etc..). Camp t-shirts must be worn on a daily basis. We also strongly encourage all campers to pack a ball-cap of some type and sun-screen for when they are participating in outdoor activities.

A friendly reminder to all, we will be posting daily photos from the camp on our Facebook page. We encourage you to follow us @nyspcamp to keep up-to-speed with the day’s events.

All parents are invited to join us on the last day of camp (Friday at 2:15PM) for our Closing Ceremony, which will take place in Gym #4.
