The Mid Island Pirates would like to congratulate Brody Deverill on his signed commitment to Taft College in California.

Brody's baseball journey began at a young age with the Duncan Junior Baseball Association.  He progressed to the Cowichan Valley AAA Mustangs during his PeeWee and Bantam years.  Wanting to play the highest caliber baseball with the most recruiting exposure, Brody made the move to the Premier Baseball League and began playing for the Nanaimo Pirates in 2017.

Brody’s batting and infield skills caught the eye of Taft coaching staff during his Arizona Pro Tour with Arizona Diamondbacks scout, Doug Mathieson.

Brody had also been approached by a NCAA Division 2 school from West Virginia but decided the CCCAA division Taft College was the best fit as it had always been his goal to play at a California school.

Brody’s studies will focus on courses that will compliment and further his goal of gaining acceptance to the RCMP Academy upon completion of his four year degree.

The Pirates wish Brody much success on and off the field in the coming years.
