PIRATES WEEK IN REVIEW

Date:  Source: BCPBL: Mid-Island Pirates

This past weekend saw the Pirates bats come alive, posting 3 consecutive wins.

A 11-10 victory Saturday over the Ladysmith Pilots men’s team, under sunny skies at Dogwood Park.
Sunday the Pirates traveled south to take on the Victoria Eagles in a daytime doubleheader, beating the Eagles both games..., 8-7 and 12-10.

“Fairly happy with where we’re at to this point in the Spring. Our hitting is further ahead of our pitching and defence right now, which is very encouraging because I expect pitching and defence to be the hallmark of our team as we move forward.”

Some good individual performances from the weekend came from Ryan Waatainen, who came up with some big clutch hits. Caskenette, Steen, Dorman, Manhas, Brock all had meaningful ABs.

On the bump, Waatainen, Hill, Homeniuk, Brock and Dorman all showed well.

Next up is the Kelowna Invitational Tournament April 5-7.
