League Game Weekend

Villanova played 2 league games this week, an away game at Penn State Berks on Saturday night and a home game against Drexel on Sunday afternoon.

During the first period against Berks, Villanova scored the first 2 goals of the game. Goals were scored by Christopher Parisi and Tim Matthews. With less than a minute left in the first, Berks buried a goal.

 

Villanova’s George Clark scored the first goal of the second period. Berks scored another goal about halfway through the period. Joe Desimone scored a goal for Villanova with 4 minutes left in the period, and then Berks scored again with 2 minutes left.

 

The IceCats buried two goals in the third period, thanks to Brett Mackell and Marc Trotta. Villanova locked in a 6-3 league win over Penn State Berks. Villanova outshot Berks 28-27. Ajay Fernandez was in net for Villanova.

 

On Sunday, Villanova hosted Drexel at Hatfield Ice. Jack Merecki scored the first goal of the game, giving Villanova a 1-0 lead. Drexel responded with 2 goals before the end of the period.

 

Both teams scored a goal in the second period. Villanova’s David Troiano scored first, tying the game, and then Drexel buried a goal.

 

The only goal scored in the third period was by Drexel. The final score of the game was a 4-2 win for Drexel. Shots on goal were 36 for Drexel and 31 for Villanova. John Persichilli was Villanova’s goaltender for the night.
