Icecats Tight Playoff Battle

The IceCats traveled to the Big Apple this past Friday night to play New York University at Chelsea East.
Junmo Kim scored the first goal of the game for Villanova about 13 minutes into the period. With just one minute left, NYU tied the game for the period. During the second, NYU dominated the ice, scoring a total of 6 goals throughout the period.
Both teams scored one goal in the third period. Villanova scored first with a goal by George Clark. The final score of the game was an 8-2 loss for Villanova. NYU put 43 shots up and Villanova 21. Ajay Fernandez was goaltending.
On Saturday night, Towson University came to play the IceCats at their home rink. There was only one goal scored in the first period by Towson.
The second period was more lively, with a total of 4 goals scored. Towson scored the first goal of the second, and then Villanova followed up with 3 goals, taking the lead. Villanova’s goals were scored by David Troiano, George Clark, and Nikita Morozov.
During the third period, Towson retook the lead by scoring 2 more goals, which were the last of the game. The final score of the game was a 4-3 loss for Villanova.
Villanova almost triple-outshot Towson 68-25. John Persichilli was in net for Villanova.
Next weekend, Villanova will be at home on Friday at 7:20 p.m. against Rochester Institute of Technology, and on Sunday at 1:10 p.m. against University of Arkansas. Go IceCats!
