Komoka Kings put up a good challenge but a couple of late Sarnia goals led to a 2-4 defeat to the Legionnaires on Saturday November 3 at the Komoka Wellness Centre. After a scoreless first period Sarnia opened the score at 12:02 of the second period. Sarnia made it 2-0 with a goal at 0:46 of the third period. However the Kings made a comeback with a power play goal at 5:51 of the third scored by Jacob Rochford assisted by Joel Mazzilli and D'Arcy Panziera. Kings tied the game at 11:12 on a goal by captain Joel Mazzilli assisted by Jacob Rochford and Chase Strychaluk. That was as close as the Kings could muster when former King Isaac McLean scored at 14:36 and an empty net marker by the Legionnaires at 19:31 to make it a 4-2 game for the Sarnia Legionnaires. Kings took 25 shots on the Sarnia net while Owen Say faced 28 Legionnaire shots.
First star of the game was Kings' Jacob Rochford, second star Sarnia's Isaac McLean, and third star Kings' Joel Mazzilli.
The teams face each other again on Thursday, November 8 at the Sarnia Arena.
