Flyers Acquire Goaltender Zach Borgiel from USHL

The Leamington Flyers are pleased to announce the addition of Zach Borgiel to their lineup.

 

The 6’1 and 200 pound goalie comes to Leamington from the Omaha Lancers of the USHL.

 

Prior to that, the Fort Gratiot native split last season between the Brookings Blizzard of the NAHL where he put up a 

.890 save percentage and a 3.47 goals against average in 15 games. He also suited up in 11 games for the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL. In 11 contests he finished with a .863 save percentage and a 3.66 goals against average.

 

He was a 5th round selection in the 2016 OHL draft by the Niagara Ice Dogs. 

 

Prior to his junior hockey, Borgiel played for the Honeybaked AAA program. 

 

Last season he earned USHL All Rookie second team honours for Muskegon. 

 

Zach made his Flyers' debut last night allowing 1 goal on 19 shots to lead the Flyers to a win vs St Thomas.
