Battle of the Birds: Red Hawks Fall Short in Tight Match A...
Date: Oct 9, 2025
The Seton Hall Pirates Ice Hockey team starts their season with a home game at Richard J. Codey Arena vs. the Princeton University Tigers on September 22nd at 8 PM. The team’s home opener will be a white out.
The Pirates look to get back into the playoffs for the first time since 2015, where they lost in the finals to West Chester University. Led by an entirely new coaching staff last year, the team went 7-11, missing the playoffs by 2 points.
Last year, the Tigers and Pirates split their two games, with the home team seizing the victory in both instances. At Hobey Baker Arena, the Pirates fell in their first game of the season 6-3. Forward Thomas Healy (Class of 2021) scored 3 goals for the Pirates, as classmate Joseph Carbone finished with 43 saves in his first career start.
Later in the year, the Pirates would have their revenge, as the squeaked by the Tigers in overtime 6-5. Charles Mule (’15) led the way, scoring three goals, the last of which was the game-winner. Healy tacked in two points (1G, 1A), and Austin Francois (’19) recorded his 4th win of the year.
Be sure to wear your white!
