Barrie edges Hamilton 1-0
HAMILTON—Hamilton Cardinals put up a game fight against the Barrie Baycats but came out on the short end of a 1-0 score in game two of their best-of-seven Intercounty Baseball League semifinals tonight in Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium.
Starlin Rodriguez scored the winning run for Barrie in the sixth inning as singled to right field, advanced to second on a balk, and scored on Kyle DeGrace’s double to centre field. Rodriguez had two hits in the game. For Hamilton, Jon Dziomba had two hits in three plate appearances including a triple. Grant Arnold added a double.
Matt St.Kitts earned the victory for Barrie as he pitched nine scoreless innings. He gave up six hits and retired 13 batters on strikes. Chris Lazar also went nine innings, giving up one earned run on seven hits and two walks.
