TSCHL RESTRUCTURES AND ADOPTS NEW TOURNAMENT FORMAT

With the departure of Wright State University from The Tri-State Collegiate Hockey League (TSCHL), the TSCHL has restructured the make up of the league.

Since 2010, the league has operated as one division.  Each team has always played each member team twice – once at home and once on the road.  The top six (6) or eight (8) teams, depending on year, in the entire league has qualified for the TSCHL Tournament.

Beginning with the 2018-2019 season, the TSCHL will be split into two (2) divisions.  Each team will play its division opponents twice and cross-division opponents once.  The cross-division games will alternate between sites each year.

NORTH                                           SOUTH
Akron                                           Cincinnati
Bowling Green                             Dayton
Ohio                                             Louisville
Ohio State                                    Miami (OH)
Pittsburgh                                     Xavier

The TSCHL Tournament will look much different than in years past.  The top four (4) teams from each division will qualify for the tournament.  The eight (8) qualifying teams will be split into two (2) brackets.

BRACKET #1                                  BRACKET #2
N1 vs. S4                                    S1 vs. N4
S2 vs. N3                                    N2 vs. S3

There will be no reseeding between rounds.  The winner of Bracket #1 will play the winner of Bracket #2 in the Sunday timeslot for the TSCHL Tournament Championship.  The TSCHL Tournament Champion will also earn the TSCHL Auto-Bid to the ACHA Southeast Regional Tournament.
