TORONTO - The London Majors jumped out to a 4-0 first inning lead and never looked back in downing Toronto Maple Leafs 13-4 Sunday afternoon at Dominico Field in Christie Pits.
Cleveland Brownlee led the Majors’ 13-hit attack with four hits and eight RBI’s including three home runs. His seventh inning grand slam closed out the scoring for London. Evan Britt had two hits including a double and two RBI’s for London while R.J. Fuhr and Matt Hexter each added two hits as well.
Zac Orchard had two hits including a double and solo home run for the Leafs while Dan Marra added two hits and Jonathan Solazzo had two hits and two RBI’s.
Starlin Peralta (7-2) picked up the win, going six innings and allowing six hits, two runs, five walks with two strikeouts. Will Newton (1-1) started and only lasted the first inning, giving up four hits, five runs, three walks and two strikeouts.
