Reichstein, Brownlee lead Majors past Leafs

LONDON – Byron Reichstein drove in five and Cleveland Brownlee tied the franchise record for regular season home runs as the London Majors beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 11-3 Friday night at Labatt Park.

Reichstein went 3-for-5 with a home run and two singles. Brownlee had two hits, including a two-run blast that tied Dave Byers atop the Majors' regular season home run list with 69.

Chris McQueen had three hits, two runs and an RBI, RJ Fuhr singled twice and scored twice, Keith Kandel scored twice and drove in a run, Evan Britt had a pair of runs, and Jacob Mansfield went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run.

Joan Montero (4-3) picked up the win, allowing two unearned runs on seven hits with four walks and 11 strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

London improved to 13-7.

Connor Lewis drove in two for the Leafs, who dropped to 13-9. Daniel Szpik singled, doubled and scored twice, and Aaron Hornostaj added two hits and an RBI.

Justin Cicatello (2-1) went five innings in the loss. He gave up 10 runs (nine earned) on 12 hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
