Brooks stays hot as Majors top Herd

LONDON – Dylan Brooks continued his dominant season with eight strikeouts over seven innings to lead the London Majors to a 7-2 win over the Burlington Herd Friday night at Labatt Park.

Brooks gave up one run on one hit and walked three as he improved to 4-1. The 22-year-old righty now has an earned-run average of 1.20 with 39 strikeouts over 30 innings.

Offensively, Evan Britt drove in a pair with a two-run double. Michael Ambrose, Cleveland Brownlee and Matt Hexter had an RBI apiece. Chris McQueen had two hits and scored twice, while Byron Reichstein singled and scored a pair of runs.

London improved to 11-6.

Reese O'Farrell singled twice and drove in the Herd's only run. Justin Gideon and Canice Ejoh both scored.

Ben Donnell (0-2) was pulled after recording one out in the first inning. He gave up three runs on one hit with two walks and two hit batters.

Burlington fell to 5-13.
