Meet the champs!

The Cobourg Cougars are the 2018 West champions of the Ontario Junior Development League.

Cobourg defeated the Oakville Blades 4-2 in the divisional title tilt at Westwood Arena in Toronto Wednesday.

Sparked by two goals from Aydin Parekh and two assists by Hayden Heinrich, Cobourg jumped out to a 4-0 lead and held on for the win.

The Cougars were outshot 34-21. Tanner Wickware earned the win in goal.

Whitby won the East championship with a shootout win over Pickering Tuesday night.

The OJDL featured two five-divisions this spring. Regular-season games were played in Oshawa and Trenton in the East and Etobicoke and Oakville in the West.
