CLIPPERS IMPROVE TO 3-2

The Windsor Clippers closed out the regular season with a pair of road wins, and hit several milestones as well.
On Saturday night the Clippers battled the Owen Sound North Stars and came away with a convincing 18-7 victory. Chase Kavanaugh led all Clippers with 4 goals and 5 assists. Brayden Mayea and Noah Bushnell each had 6 point games. Carson Hebner recorded the win in goal.
On Sunday afternoon the Clippers made there way over to Guelph to take on the Regals. Despite a slow start and early 2-0 deficit, the Clippers turned up the heat and rolled the Regals 31-6.
Noah Bushnell had a career high 16 Point game with 6 goals and 10 assists. Rookie Brayden Mayea scored 7 goals to go along with 5 assists and Chase Kavanaugh scored 3 goals to go along with 8 assists. Blain Wallace scored 5 goals and 3 assists. Carson Hebner put in two periods of work in goal for the win, while Chase Cosgrove closed out the third period. The Clippers recorded 99 shots on goal in the game.
As for milestones, the Clippers finished the regular season with a record of 17-3, and win the Far West division. The Clippers also went 10-0 on the road for the first time in franchise history.
Chase Kavanaugh scored his 50 th goal of the season on Saturday night, and took over the lead in the Jr. B scoring race today, currently sitting with 122 points.
Rookie Brayden Mayea scored his 60th goal of the season on Sunday afternoon as well as hitting the 100 point mark. Mayea closed out the regular season with 105 points.
Noah Bushnell had a monster game on Sunday with 16 points, and he surpassed the 100 point mark, closing out the season with 103 points.
Kavanaugh, Mayea and Bushnell are 1-2-3 in the western conference scoring race. Jake Rosa is tied for 13th with 85 points.
