Cardinals Re-Sign Local Slugger Renaud

LONDON – Byron Reichstein went deep twice and drove in three as the London Majors beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 11-8 Friday night at Labatt Park.
Reichstein finished with three hits and scored three times. Michael Ambrose went 3-for-4 with three RBI, a run and a steal. Chris McQueen and Kyle Gormandy had two hits and a run apiece, Cleveland Brownlee singled twice, scored twice and had an RBI, and Keith Kandel, Robert Doyle and Carlos Arteaga all drove in a run.
Starlin Peralta (2-0) gave up five runs on six hits over seven innings for the win. He walked three and struck out seven.
London improved to 8-3 with its seventh straight victory.
Garret Takamatsu doubled three times, scored twice and had an RBI for the Leafs, who dropped to 7-4. Grant Tamane doubled twice and had two RBI and a run, Damon Topolie had three RBI, while Connor Lewis and Justin Marra each had an RBI. Jonathan Solazzo scored twice.
Marek Deska (1-1) took the loss, giving up six runs on eight hits over four innings. He didn't record a walk or strikeout.
