OJDL WEEKEND EVENT WILL 'SHOWCASE' ALL PLAYERS

Date:  Source: OJDL - Ontario Junior Development League

The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) will put the focus on the players in its Ontario Junior Development League (OJDL) during the spring loop's annual showcase next month.

All 10 OJDL teams will take part in the event, June 2 and 3 at Campus Ice Centre in Oshawa.

"It gives teams in both divisions a chance to cross-over and play teams from the other side during this one weekend," said Rick Morocco, the OJHL's Director of Business Development and Events.

Play began this week in both OJDL's divisions – East and West.

“The OJDL was developed to provide players with an introduction to the OJHL and Junior ‘A’ hockey, while at the same time provide our clubs with a player development and identification process for the following season,” said OJHL Commissioner Marty Savoy.  “The program allows for our teams to work with prospects in an environment where they can evaluate players earlier in their team selection process.”

The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) started the successful pilot program in 2015 with four teams.
