FRIENDSHIP AND LOYALTY KEY TO ISLANDER SUCCESS

Colorado Springs, CO- USA Hockey announced the 46 players invited to take part in the 2012 USA Hockey National Junior Evaluation Camp this summer in Lake Placid, NY. The invited players will be auditioning for a spot on the US National Junior Team that will take part in the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship from December 26, 2012 through January 5, 2013, in Ufa, Russia.
Among the invitees is South Shore Kings alum Jimmy Vesey, who won the EJHL’s Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Vesey, a native of North Reading, MA, shattered the EJHL’s single-season scoring record, netting 48 goals and 43 assists for a total of 91 points. In 45 regular season games, he failed to record a point in just six contests. Prior to the season, he joined the EJHL Selects as they competed in the 2011 World Junior Club Cup in Omsk, Russia. The Harvard University recruit is expected to be selected in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
