Hespeler switching divisions

In September, 63 PJHL teams had their sights on the 2018 OHA Schmalz Cup, and now after eight Division Championships have completed there are only eight teams remaining with a shot at the Cup. The Division Champions will now square off in the four PJHL Conference Championships, which double as the OHA Schmalz Cup Quarterfinals, with the winner of each series moving on to the 2018 OHA Schmalz Cup Semifinals.
EAST CONFERENCE
Orr Division: Lakefield Chiefs
Tod Division: Port Hope Panthers
NORTH CONFERENCE
Carruthers Division: Stayner Siskins
Pollock Division: Mount Forest Patriots
SOUTH CONFERENCE
Bloomfield Division: Glanbrook Rangers
Doherty Division: Tavistock Braves
WEST CONFERENCE
Stobbs Division: Lakeshore Canadiens
Yeck Division: Lambeth Lancers
The PJHL East Conference Championship is a rematch of last year’s series as the Lakefield Chiefs face the Port Hope Panthers, the defending Conference Champions. The Panthers won last year’s series in six games. This series gets underway Tuesday, March 20 at 7:30 PM in Lakefield. The winner of the East Championship advances to the OHA Schmalz Cup Semifinals against the winner from the North Conference Championship. Click here for the series preview.

The PJHL North Conference Championship has one returnee, the Mount Forest Patriots from the Pollock Division, and a new champion from the Carruthers Division as the Stayner Siskins defeated the Alliston Hornets. Last year Mount Forest faced Alliston in the North Championship, a series won in five games by Alliston. Game one of the North Championship series is Thursday, March 22 at 8:10 PM in Stayner. The PJHL West Conference Championship features two new teams as the Lakeshore Canadiens ended the reign of the Essex 73’s as Stobbs Division Champions and the Lambeth Lancers stopped the two year run of the Dorchester Dolphins as Yeck Division Champions. Game one of this series is Tuesday, March 20 at 8:00 PM in Lakeshore. The winner of the West Championship will face the Champions from the South Conference in the OHA Schmalz Cup Semifinals. The PJHL South Conference Championship also features two new teams as the Tavistock Braves knocked out the two-time defending Schmalz Cup Champion Ayr Centennials in seven games in the Doherty Division Championship and the Glanbrook Rangers ended the long-time reign of the Grimsby Peach Kings in the Bloomfield Division Championship. This series gets underway on Wednesday, March 21 at 7:30 PM in Tavistock.
