Villanova Undefeated weekend: 3-0-0

Villanova defeated Lehigh University in back-to-back games this past weekend.

Friday’s away game began with 3 goals in the first period scored by Villanova’s Jack Skaggs, Patrick Keough, and David Troiano. During the second period, Villanova locked in 3 more goals by Christopher Parisi (2) and Eric Brotmann.

Villanova opened the third period with 2 goals by Jack Skaggs and George Clark. Lehigh locked in one goal about halfway through the third. Before the end of game play, Villanova buried 2 more goals by Christopher Parisi and Patrick Keough.

The final score of the game was 10-1 with a win for the IceCats!

On Saturday, Villanova hosted Lehigh at Hatfield Ice. Villanova dominated in the first period, scoring 5 goals by Timothy Matthews, Jacks Skaggs, Richie Halevy, George Clark, and Troy Donahue.

During the second period, Villanova scored 3 more goals by Troy Donahue, Edward Klein, and Christopher Parisi.

To start the third period, Villanova’s George Clark and Aiden Rush both scored a goal. Halfway through the period, Lehigh scored. Villanova responded with another goal by Jack Skaggs.

Villanova defeated Lehigh with a final score of 11-1.

On Sunday, the IceCats played an away game against West Chester at Ice Line Quad Rinks in West Chester, PA.

West Chester scored within the first minute of play, and Villanova’s Junmo Kim scored about 5 minutes into the period, making the score 1-1. Each team buried another goal before the end of the period, with Villanova’s second goal scored by Christopher Parisi.

Villanova established a 2-goal lead during the second period, thanks to goals by Junmo Kim and Jack Skaggs.

Villanova’s Christopher Parisi opened the third period with a goal. West Chester scored 3 more goals, making the final score of the third 5-5.

There was no scoring in an exciting overtime battle. The game went to a shootout where Tim Matthews and Christopher Parisi both scored and John Persichilli stopped 2 pucks which locked down the win for Villanova.
