Hokies Invited to Inaugural ACHA Fall Faceoff
Date: Apr 17, 2026

Following a tough loss last week, the Beach was looking to get back in the win column against Chapman University.
Chapman had other plans as they capitalized early and were up 2-0 on the Beach less than four minutes in to the game. Beach players continued to work and managed to hit the Chapman net 19 times in the first period. Jack Friedman, Chapman goalie, continued to stifle the Beach as he had in their first meeting earlier this month. Michael Hakimi would eventually find his way passed the Chapman netminder and put the team on the board mid-way through the first.
Blake Sundy made sure the team didn’t look back and scored 39 seconds into the second period to get the Beach going. Tyler Galgas would add two more and Luke Miller would score off a beautiful power play set up from Sundy and Kody Ichinaga.
In the final period, Parker Burley would find the back of the net for his first goal on the year and Galgas would complete his hat-trick on the powerplay with under two minutes remaining in the game.
Long Beach managed to put 70 shots on net and with three for seven on the powerplay.
Next week, Long Beach welcomes Grand Canyon University for two games at Lakewood Ice.
