MARK IT IN THE BOOKS
Date: Dec 3, 2018

The Warriors face two tough matchups coming into the weekend as they looked to improve their playoff standing. It all started on Friday night when they traveled down to Pennsauken to take on Rutgers-Camden, a team who is fighting for its playoff life. The Warriors would get off to a slow start in the 1st period, conceding a 2-0 lead to Rutgers-Camden. Even though it was a small lead, it seemed like a mountain to climb with the brick wall that the Warriors were facing in the Rutgers-Camden net. After the first period though, all of the offensive zone time would be in the Warriors favor as they would out shoot Rutgers-Camden 35-14 in the last two period, putting quality chance after quality chance on net. They would finally break through after forward Steve Quimby would be able to place a perfect shot top cheddar over the netminders's shoulder off of a face off to cut the lead down to 2-1. The score would stay that way at the end of the 2nd as the Warriors would look to get another one to tie the game up and put all of the pressure on their opponent. And they would do that for the first minute or two of the third period, looking like they were on the doorstep on tying the game until everyone got caught up and Rutgers forward Luke Hussey was able to get a breakaway and score to make the score 3-1. The Warriors would score again to cut the lead down to one once again thanks to Chris Marrero putting home a rebound in front with about 11 minutes to go. But those last 11 minutes would consist of the Warriors putting chance after chance on net but no one able to find the finishing touch to tie the game. The loss would put the Warriors league record at 8-4, almost ending their chances at trying for the #1 seed in the American East division and the first round bye in the playoffs.
Game Notes: Josh Seder - 22 saves on 25 shots
Players of the Game: Marrero - Quimby - Barber connection, 2 points each
The next opponent for the Warriors would be the first place Bucknell Bison, a team that is coming in with only one loss on the season, a shootout loss to ESU back in October. Both teams sit atop the American East Division looking to gain momentum for their playoff runs. This would be the last league game for the Warriors on the season. And after a late night the day before, the Warriors came out sluggish and may have played one of its worst periods on the season in the 1st but escaped with only a 2-0 deficit thanks to solid goaltending from Josh Seder. So after 20 minutes the Warriors would go to the locker room and look to adjust and try to gain some momentum in the 2nd period. And the Warriors would gain some ground on the Bison, getting as close as 4-2 in the middle of the 2nd period, but would shoot themselves in the foot by getting into penalty trouble and killing all momentum they were gaining. The game would 8-4 in favor of Buckenll and the Warriors will end their league season with a record of 8-5 and will enter the playoffs as the #2 seed in the American East Division and will take on whatever team finishes 3rd in the American West Division between Johns Hopkins, PSU-Harrisburg, and Salisbury. The overall record on the season for the Warriors drops to 12-6-1.
