The Tavistock Braves won two of three games last weekend to help them slide back into first place in the Doherty Division.
The began with a 4-2 loss to the Wellesley Applejacks, but came back with a 7-2 win against Wellesley the next night and an 8-0 shutout of the Burford Bulldogs Sunday.
In their loss to Wellesley, the Braves had goals from Ryan Donat and Carson MacRae as the Applejacks doubled them up for the rare Tavistock loss. The Braves had 37 shots on Wellesley’s net and Jensen Van Boekel made 29 saves.

Tavistock and Wellesley finished their home-and-home stand in a 7-2 Tavistock win Saturday, with the Braves scoring three times in the first then twice in the second and third. The Braves also went 3-for-6 on the power play.
In the first, Josh Borys, Zac Berg and Liam O’Dette gave Tavistock a 3-2 lead following 20 minutes then Brody Oliver and Cole Corriveau made it 5-2 at the end of the second. Oliver and Borys added goals in the third. Ryan Donat and Tayler Trachsel had a pair of assists. Sam Roy stopped 44 shots in the Braves net and Tavistock had 32 shots on Wellesley.

The Braves wrapped up the weekend with a dominant 8-0 drubbing of the Burford Bulldogs Sunday with all goals coming at even strength.
Zac Berg had a hat trick along with goals from Ryan Donat, Josh Borys, Kellen Gedies, Cole Corriveau and Liam O’Dette. Corriveau added three assists as both he and Berg had four point nights. Jensen Van Boekel earned the shutout with 20 saves and Tavistock had 46 shots on Burford’s net.

Tavistock has a 20-2-0-2 record and they visit the New Hamburg Firebirds Friday and host the Norwich Merchants Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
