The IceCats boarded the bus and headed down to Maryland on Saturday for a league game against Navy, but they came home defeated.
The game was scoreless for the majority of the first period, until Navy buried a goal within the last minute. Navy was able to put home 4 more goals throughout the second period.
In the third period, Villanova’s Jack Skaggs scored the last goal of the game about 4 minutes in. Navy triumphed over Villanova with a final score of 5-1.
“Nothing will be handed to us in this league,” said Kenny Orlando, head coach of Villanova. “If the team doesn’t go out and earn it every single shift, they are not going to win.”
The IceCats will return to the ice after the Thanksgiving holiday. They’ll kick off next weekend with 2 league games against Towson. The first game will be on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. at Ice World, and the second on Dec. 2 at 7:40 p.m. at Hatfield Ice. To finish off the weekend, Villanova will host TCNJ on Dec. 3 at 1:15 p.m. Let’s go Nova!!
