MARK IT IN THE BOOKS
Date: Dec 3, 2018

This weekend will be another one game affair like last weekend, this time it involves a trip down to Reading, Pa to take on Alvernia University. The Golden Wolves come into the game with an overall record of 6-7-1 and a conference record of 1-4-0, sitting in last place of the American East Division. This was a big week for Alvernia when it came to the overall standings within the conference as they had 3 league games within 5 days, a home and home with Widener sandwiched around the game against the Warriors on Saturday. On Wednesday night, things did not go the way they were hoping to as they started this important stretch of games as they lost to Widener 6-3 at home. But as anyone who is familiar with these two clubs know, records do not matter when it comes to this match up. The Warriors are staring down an 18 game losing streak to the hockey team formerly known as the Crusaders, not recording a win against them since the 2005-2006 season when Alvernia was just starting their program. The two clubs met for the first time in that season with the Warriors getting a 7-2 victory. The two squads would not play each other again until the 2010-2011 season when Alvernia would join the DVCHC, and from this point forward these two clubs would play each other at least two times a season for the next 6 seasons (including one DVCHC playoff matchup) and only once last season (a 5-0 win by Alvernia at the Body Zone). But the Warriors come into this match up as a different team with a different make up. A team that came into the season with the mantra "Why not us?" will say the same thing to themselves as the enter the Body Zone because it has to end sometime, so why not Saturday. Puck drop is set for 8:00pm.
