On Saturday morning a handful of UM-Flint hockey players met at Crystal Fieldhouse Ice Arena to volunteer for USA Hockey's "Try Hockey For Free" event.  

The event was ran by area hockey directors of Greater Flint Hockey Association (GFHA) and Crystal Fieldhouse management.  Over 60 kids attended the completely free event.  There were plenty of falls, laughs and goals scored but more importantly each player took their first stride.  As a hockey community we hope it will be the first of many thousands in the future.  Someday in a University of Michigan-Flint sweater.

We would like to extend a special thank you to USA Hockey, Crystal Fieldhouse, Greater Flint Hockey Association, Flint Firebirds and the many other volunteers that made it a successful event for all in attendance.
