Weekend Recap: October 27th-28th

The Braves picked up two big wins this weekend defeating the Woodstock Navy Vets on Friday night and the Norwich Merchants on Saturday, moving themselves back into 2nd place in the Doherty Division.

Friday Night, Tavistock travelled to Woodstock for a rematch against the Navy Vets. Looking to rebound from last weeks overtime loss to the Vets, the Braves came out flying and scored in the opening 30 seconds. The Braves would not look back as they controlled most of the game and came away with a 5-2 victory. Scoring for Tavistock was Jake Wiffen, Derek Hyde, Josh Borys, Josh Schindler and Zac Berg. Assists went to Mitch McKay, Cole Corriveau, Matt Gauthier, Ryan Donat, Tayler Trachsel and Jake Wiffen. Justin Osolnik was outstanding in net recording 32 saves in the win.

The following night, the Braves hosted the Norwich Merchants on a rare Saturday night home game. Tavistock kept their momentum rolling from the night before and scored three unanswered goals in the first period on their way to a 5-3 win. Leading the way for Tavistock was Angus Rowland with 4 points (1G,3A) and Jake Wiffen with 3 Points (3G). Mathew Walsh and Josh Borys also scored goals for the Braves.  Jared Yantzi, Cole Corriveau, Derek Hyde and Tayler Trachsel added assists. Jensen Van Boekel was solid in net making 29 saves.

Tavistock’s next home game will be Friday November 3rd, when they host the Woodstock Navy Vets. Puckdrop is 7:30PM!
